Grown in the heart of East Sussex

Fan

This form is extremely decorative and can be used for most fruit trees.  Branches radiate from two main low angled arms.  Stone fruit, plums, gage, cherry, peach and nectarines really enjoy this form if planted next to a fence or wall, as the heat from these structures aid fruit ripening and also protection from frost early in the year.  The  wall or fence enables netting to be put up to protect fruit from birds.  Apples and pears can also be shaped in the fan form, as less informal training than an espalier.  Figs also benefit with this training.  Sussex Fruit Trees can install the wire trellis system for supporting these trees.
