Grown in the heart of East Sussex

Firle Place Garden Show 21-23 April 2017

Sussex Fruit Trees exhibited at this show and would like to thank all the visitors who braved the cold wind to make the show a success.  This was the 10th year of the show and the organisers to celebrated provided plants to the Firle Estate.  The Head Gardener chose to have some fruit trees to start renewing the walled garden orchard.  The Head Gardener and a representative from the Woodland Trust planted a fruit tree each day supplied by Sussex Fruit Trees.

They chose a Onward pear to cross pollinate with the wall trained pears, Opal plum and a Sussex variety of apple, Hawkridge, originally from Hellingly, not far from Firle.
